The 100-Day Pivot: From Property Manager to Product Manager
I remember back in 2023, when ChatGPT was the talk of every town. Everyone was speculating: What is the future of AI? Who will be replaced? Some were anxious, some were hopeful, and others—like me—simply didn't care. I was part of that indifferent crowd.
But these past 100 days (starting December 12, 2025) have been the most high-intensity period of my life. For the last eight years, I've been working in Property Management. I knew deep down that no matter how many promotions I earned, the industry had a hard ceiling—it is essentially a manual service industry where your earning potential is capped by how much "physical labor" you can provide.
Last year, I stepped into a management role for our inspections department. Because of software limitations, a massive amount of the workload had to be patched manually. It was mental torture. I grew to loathe those repetitive, low-risk, low-efficiency tasks.
That extreme frustration became my primary driver. I made a "crazy" decision: to solve the problem myself.
My personal "technological singularity" exploded. Learning on the fly and leveraging LLMs, I navigated hundreds of failures and iterations to build a full-stack, serverless, Level-4 automated decision-dispatch engine.
- I integrated Gemini and Google Maps APIs.
- I utilized greedy algorithms and multi-stage iterations to solve the complex VRP (Vehicle Routing Problem).
- I implemented data cleaning, workload quantization, and path/status conflict constraints.
- I built the frontend dashboard, a central control console, database read-write separation, and RBAC (Role-Based Access Control).
I built the 1.0 prototype in just 19 days of my spare time. This was a workload that should have taken a dev team at least 3 to 6 months—and I did it alone.
That was the moment I realized the "terror" of AI. It is a lever. If you can get from 0 to 1, AI will take you from 1 to 1,000. I also realized that for those doing low-value, repetitive administrative work, being replaced is only a matter of time.
That anxiety drove me to earn my AWS Certified AI Practitioner in just 21 days. I needed to fundamentally understand what AI is, how to apply it, and how to protect data security. Immediately after, in a 49-day "extreme sprint," I passed the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate exam.
My career has officially hit its major turning point: I've gone from PM (Property Manager) to PM (Product Manager).
Whatever challenges the future holds, these 100 days taught me one thing: AI is the key to the new world; it is the steam engine of the 21st century. Don't wait until the Spinning Jenny has already been built to realize you're still a weaver.
This is the story of my 100 days.
